In
the early 1980s Lucie Minne brought the Sacred Dance to Sweden. The minister Maria Rönn trained to become
a dance leader in Findhorn, Scotland, and she started the first dance
courses within the Swedish Church in 1992, in the Stockholm region. Today,
new dance leaders are educated in different parts of Sweden and there are
dance groups in several places.
Many dance groups gather in churches and parish
halls. The dances have also become part of services.
If
you would like to dance in Sweden it would be a good way to take part in
one of the pilgrim-walks with cirkel dancing in beautiful parts of
Sweden. For more information contact Annika
Linderfalk. Mostly the walking and dancing is for a weekend and then
we can help you with tips for a further stay in Sweden.
In
the past five years Laura Shannon from Findhorn
has repetitively
visited Sigtuna (near Stockholm), where she has brought together many of
the active dancers and dance leaders for further training. This has meant
a lot for the existence and performance of Sacred
Dance in Sweden. In November 2003 more than 100 dancers gathered for
two weekend seminars with Laura (one in Sigtuna and one in Malmoe, in the
south of Sweden.)
In
the summer there are dancing opportunities in Borgholm,
a popular tourist town on the Swedish island Öland. It is also possible
to attend week courses in other beautiful places during the summer months.

a simple, yet informative magazine about Sacred
Dance. This very homepage is an attempt to hold together the dance
and the dancers and also to spread information about our current
activities. Flödet and the
